The NBN Academy offers a variety of training that was developed by the NBN Steering Committee.  The committee is made up of residents and city staff who focus on peer-to-peer, interactive training that supports NBN core concepts.

Goal:

To develop a multi-level educational program that will enhance the capacity20160521_094656.jpg of Norfolk's citizens to be engaged, responsible neighbors and community leaders.

Objectives:
  • Design and implement foundational or capacity building classes that assist formal and informal community groups in effectively identifying, organizing and accomplishing their goals.
  • Design classes for individuals and/or community groups for the purpose of empowering them to be responsible neighbors and community members.
  • Explore best practices in developing curriculum for neighborhood leaders who are ready to expand their focus from their neighborhood to create change throughout the city.
